Well, it's a great way to make yourself stand out because not that many people have videos on their profile. Also, it's a great way to get people to pay more attention to who you are and what you do. Yes, you may have a link that will take them to your YouTube site, or to your website where that video may be, but a lot of times, people won't go to that extra effort of going to your actual website and looking for it or goint to your YouTube and looking for it, so you wanna make sure you give them that information and capture them while they are there on your profile, because chances are they're not gonna go much further.
So it's a really great way to share content from your network and give your network people visibility, and put you in front of your network as well, all at the same time.
Video can be used on LinkedIn, and a lot of people may not be aware of it, because it's not a function that LinkedIn itself has built into the profiles, but it is able to be added with a couple of the different applications. Both Slideshare, which is a Powerpoint sharing social network, where people go to ind information, has the ability to embed YouTube videos. Additionally, you can upload video that you do not want on YouTube so that you can add that to your profile. And when you add that application to your LinkedIn profile, it will play directly in there.
